Every Saturday in Heraklion in the district of Pateles, an open air street market, is the main event of the day. Here one can find many goods such as fresh vegetables and fruits, clothes, shoes, fabrics, and local products in very cheap prices.

The atmosphere feels oriental and the screams of the vendors amuses whoever passes.

After one and half hour at the market, we get on our bus for a tour around the city by the most worthwhile sites in Heraklion. At the Liberty Square we get off our bus, and you have two hours free, to admire the center of Heraklion. Through the stone-paved Dedalou Street, you can reach the Square of the Lions with the famous Venetian “Morozini fountain, the basilica of Saint Mark, the Loggia monument, the church of Saint Titos and the old picturesque Venetian Harbor with the fortress of “La Roca al Mare” or “Koules”.

Souvenir shops, boutiques, jewelry stores, cafès, restaurants … you find on your way, to end the tour before we leave the town. We complete our day visiting the Cretaquarium to explore the Mediterranean sea world and come face to face with hundreds of species and living organisms.
